Momma has a brand-new pair of....... Fire boots?

For those of you who aren't aware.... earning your 'new' turn out gear is kind of like a rite of passage. It's typically issued after the probationary period has ended and when you venture into the realm of Interior Firefighter Operations (IFO). To my sheer delight, before our regularly scheduled Drill night, measurements were taken for my new gear! Let me tell you this is one happy girl! So, thanks CFFD and 2071 for investing and believing in me.

Before joining the rest of the group for an educational seminar presented by Metro North Railroad, my personal first responder transformation continued with the usual stair climbing workout routine. Yes, my faithful readers, we are now at 10, yes 10 repetitions! Tonight, the next challenge begins by adding the purple weighted vest (as if there is any other appropriate color for me) in preparation for the turn out jacket. Let's do this!
